Michael Jenkins, Ph.D., Senior Consultant, has over twenty years of experience in the biotechnology industry. His experience spans research and development business development and operations areas, including technology development, cell line development, tech transfer, cGMP operations, site design and buildout, business development, and overall CMC operations including project management.
His current activities include CMO selection and management, development and implementation of CMC strategies, technology development and diligence, implementation of single use technologies and project management.
Prior to joining BioProcess Technology Consultants, Dr. Jenkins was Site Director at IDT Biologika, where he was responsible for a site build out to harmonize the newly acquired Rockville Maryland site operations and quality systems with IDT Germany. He previously held both Vice President of Business Development and General Manager roles at Catalent Pharmaceuticals, where he was a key member of the team that developed and commercialized Catalent’s GPEx mammalian cell line engineering technology and led the buildout of Catalent’s Madison Biologics facility. Dr. Jenkins also spent time at Goodwin Biotechnology and a plant transgenic company, CropTech Corporation.
Dr. Jenkins earned his B.S. in Microbiology from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and his Ph.D. in Molecular and Cellular Biology with a minor in Biochemistry from the University of Arizona, Tucson.
