With over 30 years business development experience in the life sciences industry, Alfred R. Doig, Jr., M.S., Publications Manager, is a proven executive with extensive publishing and editing experience in the drug discovery and development space on topics ranging from applied genomics to ultrafiltration.
Before joining BPTC, he was Research Director at Drug & Market Development Reports and General Manager at Insight Pharma Reports, where he edited and published technology and market assessment competitive intelligence reports for the biopharmaceutical industry. More recently, Mr. Doig served as Contributing Editor at BioProcess Journal. Mr. Doig has organized a number of biotechnology international conferences and has authored articles for Bio-IT World, C&E News, Genetic Engineering & Biotechnology News, Science and other publications.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Doig held executive positions at several start-up companies and universities. Further, he has experience in global technology transfer, having opened and managed the MIT Tokyo liaison office and served a Vice President of Rain Hill Group, a global, innovative new product brokering firm. His research interests include applied enzymology, affinity chromatography and the industrial applications of thermophilic microorganisms.
Mr. Doig holds M.S. degrees in Health Sciences and Biochemistry from Northeastern University and Biochemical Engineering from M.I.T. and a B.A in biology/chemistry from Boston University.
