Sonit Tomar, Ph.D., Consultant, has more than 10 years of experience in the biopharmaceutical industry, and has been involved in bioprocess development, analytical and formulation development, comparability, quality control, technology transfer, and CMC regulatory.
Before joining BPTC, Dr. Tomar was Associate Director, Analytical Development and Technical Operations at Epirus Biopharmaceuticals, where he was responsible for the the development, characterization, and comparability activities of biosimilar antibodies. He was also responsible for global CRO/CMO management to support analytical development, method qualification/validation, and technology transfer.
Prior to his role at Epirus, Dr. Tomar was Process Analytical Scientist in the Late Stage Process Development Group at Genzyme, a Sanofi Company, where he was responsible for analytical development for recombinant enzymes and monoclonal antibodies, and providing technical leadership in high-throughput method development to support large scale purification activities.
Before working at Genzyme, Dr. Tomar was Research Scientist at MassBiologics where he developed new analytical methods supporting upstream process development and downstream purification groups for monoclonal antibody candidates.
Dr. Tomar received his M.S. in Chemistry from University of Delhi, India, and Ph.D. in Biochemistry from Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
